Wrestling Gets Four Wins In 28-18 Team Loss To Millersville
February 15, 2008 | Wrestling
A silver lining in a tough season for the Princeton wrestling team has been the continued progression of freshmen Tony Comunale and Travis Erdman, both of whom picked up wins in a 28-18 home loss to Millersville.
Comunale pinned John Andel in 3:53 to give Princeton a short-lived 6-0 lead. Two forfeits and two decisions later, Princeton was trailing 19-6 as junior Alex Enriquez took the mat for a 165-pound match. Enriquez and Dave Morey each managed an escape in the first three periods, but Enriquez recorded an overtime takedown to claim a 3-1 win.
Millersville's Jeremy Brooks pinned at 174 pounds, but the red-hot Erdman, coming off a 3-0 performance last weekend defeated Steve Funk 7-3 at 184 pounds. Heavyweight Sam Ritter would also get a forfeit win, which followed a 7-3 loss for Zack Morse at 197 pounds.
Princeton will host a pair of Ivy League matches, starting at 1 p.m. against Columbia. The Tigers will take on No. 15 Cornell at 5 p.m.
