Garcia Takes First Place at Patriot Last Chance Open

FAIRFAX, VA. – Holden Garcia capped off the regular season with a first-place finish at the Patriot Last Chance Open on Sunday at George Mason.
Garcia went 3-0 on the day, earning two tech falls and a major on his way to the top of the podium.
Garcia opened the day with a 3:18 tech over Morgan State's Sam Diggs, before going back-to-back with another tech fall over F&M's Michael Fuccilli in just 4:12.
In the first-place match, Garcia went head-to-head with West Virginia's Michael Baldwin, taking an 8-0 major decision.
Jacob Mann also had a solid effort at 149 on the day. After getting pinned in his first match, Mann got back to work in the consolation bracket, earning a tech fall over F&M's Brendan Sholders. He followed it up with a decision over Minnesota's Rhett Koenig. Ultimately, though, Mann fell again to George Mason's Anthony Masile before getting to the fifth place match.
Up Next
With the regular season now concluded, the Tigers will take time to prepare for the Ivy League Tournament, to be held on March 8 in New York City, where they will look for league honors and ticket punches to the NCAA Championships in Cleveland.
