March 21, 2026 | Wrestling
CLEVELAND, OHIO – Marc-Anthony McGowan claimed silver at 125 lbs at the NCAA Championships in Cleveland on Saturday.
In the final match against No. 1 Luke Lilledahl, tenth-seeded McGowan looked strong as he held the score to 1-1 on escapes going into the third period. While looking for a shot, McGowan received two stall calls, giving a point to Lilledahl to decide the match.
McGowan, finishing his sophomore season with a record of 19-7, made a historic run at NCAAs.
Dominating with a pin in the first round, a sudden victory upset over #2 Eddie Ventresca in the quarterfinals, and a 4-1 decision over #14 Jacob Moran in the semifinals, McGowan became Princeton's first All-American and first finalist since 2023.
He is the first All-American and first national finalist under Head Coach Joe Dubuque and his staff.
