Westgarth Makes NHL Debut With Los Angeles Kings

Kevin Westgarth '07 made his National Hockey League debut last night in
the Los Angeles Kings' 5-2 win at Minnesota. Wearing jersey number 33,
Westgarth became the ninth Princetonian to play in the National
Hockey League and the second member of the Class of 2007 to make his NHL debut this season, joining classmate Darroll Powe, who has appeared in several games with the Phiadelphia Flyers. George Parros '03 and Jeff Halpern '99 are also currently playing in the NHL. Other Princetonians to appear in the NHL are Syl Apps '70, Chris Corrinet '01, Andre Faust '92, Ed Lee '84 and Mike McKee '94.
Westgarth appeared in 116 games in the Orange and Black, scoring 25 goals and adding 35 assists for 60 career points. He signed with the Kings following the completion of his senior season and over three years has played 120 games in the American Hockey League for the Manchester Monarchs. This season he has a goal and four assists in 37 games and has racked up 104 minute of penalties.
