This Week's Storylines
The Princeton men's hockey team plays its first midweek game of the 2009-10 season on the day before Thanksgiving at travel-partner Quinnipiac at the TD Banknorth Sports Center.
Last Weekend
Princeton was swept on the road at Cornell and Colgate, falling 5-2 on Friday in Ithaca and 5-4 in overtime on Saturday in Hamilton.
vs. Cornell
Senior Cam MacIntyre scored two goals in the first half of the third period, but it was not enough to dig out an early hole as the Big Red scored two goals in the first and second periods in a 5-2 win. Junior Kevin Lohry assisted on both of MacIntyre's goals.
vs. Colgate
The Raiders converted on an odd-man rush in overtime to down Princeton 5-4 in overtime. Senior Dan Bartlett scored two goals in the loss and classmate Jody Pederson had a goal and an assist. Princeton led 3-2 in the game and then forced overtime late after falling behind.
Point Leaders
Junior Mike Kramer and senior Dan Bartlett are tied for the team lead in scoring with four goals and seven points apiece. Bartlett had three points last weekend, an assist at Cornell and two goals at Colgate. Kramer scored in the Colgate game as well.
Scoring Support
Thirteen Tigers have multiple points this season with 10 garnering at least one goal and one assist. A total of 16 players have at least one point this season.
New Combination
The line of seniors Cam MacIntyre and Dan Bartlett and junior Kevin Lohry scored four of Princeton's six goals over the weekend in their first two games playing together as a unit.
Extra Time
Four of Princeton's eight games this season needed additional time to determine an outcome. The Tigers have won two games in overtime, tied once and fell on Saturday at Colgate. Princeton played just two overtime games in the regular season last year.
Special Teams
Eight of Princeton's 20 goals this season have come on the power play, including one at Colgate last weekend. Princeton has scored on 22.9 percent of its power-play chances.
Home Heavy
Princeton played its first road games of the season last weekend at Cornell and Colgate. The Tigers were 9-3-0 on the road last season. Princeton has already played six of its 14 scheduled home games this season.
Polling Place
Princeton fell out of the USCHO.com Poll this week after being swept last weekend. The Tigers had been ranked in the Top 20 in each of the seven previous polls this season and were a team receiving votes this week. Princeton's opponent Quinnipiac climbed four spots from No. 13 to No. 9 after sweeping the same two opponents last weekend.
Princeton led the nation in shots on goal last season, averaging better than 37 shot attempts per game. Princeton is averaging 36.38 shots in eight games this season and ranks fifth, roughly two per game behind first-place Wisconsin.
