March 18, 2009 | Men's Tennis
SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The doubles point and the lower half of the singles ladder lifted the Princeton men's tennis team to a 4-3 win over Purdue Tuesday as the Tigers continued their spring break trip.
Charlie Brosens, Ryan Kim and Coleman Crutchfield all won singles matches at fourth through sixth, respectively, while four other Tigers, including Peter Capkovic, Alex Vuckovic, George Carpeni and Yohei Shoji contributed to doubles wins.
Princeton battled back through the afternoon, falling behind in the quest for the doubles point before winning at first and third to secure the 1-0 team lead. Crutchfield and Kim put Princeton ahead 3-0, and Brosens' win was the clincher.
The Tigers will meet Utah, also in San Diego, Friday at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
