Men's Fencing Stands Eighth at NCAA Championships

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Four Tigers are midway through their competition at the NCAA fencing championships after 14 bouts in their respective weapons Thursday.
Graham Wicas, a sophomore epeeist, is the top-ranked Tiger after winning 10 of 14 bouts to stand fourth. Wicas will fence the other nine epee competitors tomorrow. Mike Elfassy, another sophomore epeeist, is eighth after he won 8 of 14 bouts with nine more to come Friday.
Alexander Mills, a freshman foilist, is in 12th place with 7 of 14 wins and nine bouts ahead Friday. John Stogin, a sophomore sabreist, won 4 of 14 bouts Thursday with nine bouts ahead.
As a team, Princeton stands eighth with 29 total wins. Penn State ranks first with 61 victories, leading a pack of 20 schools that posted wins Thursday. The final team standings will be known Sunday after the women's competition is complete.
