Women's Lacrosse Faces No. 4 Duke on Saturday

PRINCETON, N.J. (3/6/09) ? The Princeton women's lacrosse team will face its toughest task thus far in the season when it travels to Durham, N.C., to take on No. 4 Duke on Saturday, March 7 at 12 p.m.

Princeton leads the all-time series with Dke, 8-6. The teams first met on March 15, 1998 and have played each other every season since. The Tigers won last year's game a 13-8 win at Princeton Stadium, ending the Blue Devils' two-game win streak in the series. Duke has the upper hand in the series when playing in Durham, leading 3-2.
The Tigers are 2-0 on the season and ranked No. 6/8 in the national polls. Princeton is coming off of a 9-8 win over Rutgers on Wednesday, that was moved to the Tigers' home turf just 24 hours earlier. Senior Holly McGarvie leads the team in scoring with three goals and a team-high three assists for six points. Senior Kristin Schwab and sophomore Lizzy Drumm have five points apiece, with Schwab's all coming by way of goals, which is a team best. Besides leading the team in goals scored, Schwab has a team-high eight ground balls. McGarvie leads the team in draw controls with 10 and caused turnovers with four. Sophomores Erin Tochihara and Kaitlyn Perrelle have split time in net this season, swapping out at the half. Tochihara has a 2-0 record with a 6.26 goals against average and a .600 save percentage. Perrelle has a .400 save percentage and a 12.48 GAA.
Duke is 4-1 on the season with wins over Denver, California, Richmond and William & Mary. The team's lone loss came at Maryland last Saturday, a 15-13 defeat. The squad is undefeated at home with a 2-0 mark. Carolyn Davis and Caroline Cryer each have 21 points, while Megan Del Monte has 20 points. Lindsay Gilbride and Sarah Bullard are also in double digits in scoring. Davis leads the team in goals with 17, while Del Monte leads the team in assists with 11. Kim Imbesi has a team-high 19 ground balls, while Cryer, Davis and Emma Hamm are in double figures in draw controls. Cryer and Hamm have a team-high seven caused turnovers apiece. Imbesi has started all five games for the Blue Devils and has a 4-1 record. She has a 10.08 goals against average and a .424 save percentage, making 36 saves and allowing 49 goals.
