Women's Lacrosse Looks to Rebound at Dartmouth on Saturday

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/16/09) - The Princeton women's lacrosse teams looks to rebound from a setback at Penn this weekend when it travels to Dartmouth on Saturday, April 18 for a 3 p.m., game.

Princeton holds a slim 19-16 win over Dartmouth in the all-time series
that began in 1980. The Tigers started the series on a 5-0 streak,
before the Big Green rattled off five straight wins. Dartmouth has won
four of the last five meetings, including a 13-12 victory lat season.
The last Princeton win was in 2007 in Hanover, a 13-9 game.
Coincidentally, Princeton has a winning record when playing at
Dartmouth, 8-7.
Princeton has a 10-2 record, coming off of a 10-5 loss at No. 3 Penn on Wednesday. The Tigers are ranked No. 4 in the Inside Lacrosse poll and No. 7 in the IWLCA poll. Princeton has a 4-1 record in the Ivy League to sit in a second-place tie with Dartmouth, who also has a loss to Penn.
Senior Holly McGarvie paces the offense with 37 points off of 22 goals and a team-best 15 assists. Sophomore Lizzy Drumm and senior Kristin Schwab had a team-high 26 goals per game and had 35 and 27 points, respectively. Senior Chrisine Casaceli and junior Kristin Morrison have 24 and 23 points apiece, and three other players are in double digits in scoring. McGarvie leads the team in ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers. She has 35 ground balls, 40 draws and 24 caused turnovers. McGarvie is the only player to be in the top-20 in all three categories on a nationally-ranked team and is one of three players overall. Senior defender Marie McKenna also has 24 caused turnovers, to go along with 31 ground balls. Sophomore goalie Erin Tochihara has a 7.33 goals against average and a .569 save percentage. She has stopped 99 of 174 shots. Tochihara leads the nation in save percentage and is third in GAA.
Dartmouth enters the weekend witha 7-4 overall record, and is ranked No. 14 and No. 15 in the national polls. With a 4-1 Ivy League record, the Big Green are tied with Princeton for second place in the conference standings.
Sophomore Kate Collins leads the team in scoring with 31 goals and 12 assists for 43 points. Senior Katherin Chiusano has 39 points off of 20 goals and a team-best 19 assists. Sophomore Greta Meyer and freshman Sarah Parks have 26 and 24 points each. Freshman Sarah Plumb and junior Eliza Bennett are also in double digits in scoring. Junior Colleen Olsen and sophomore Shannie MacKenzie lead team in ground balls with 24 anad 23 apiece. Parks has a team-best 20 draw controls, while Olsen has a team-best 21 caused turnovers. Junior goalie Julie Wadland has started all 11 games for the Big Green and has an 8.38 goals against average and a .478 save percentage. She has made 86 saves on 180 shots on goal.
