No. 7/5 Women's Lacrosse Hosts Harvard in a Doubleheader

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/8/09) ? The Princeton women's lacrosse team hosts Harvard on Saturday, April 11 in a doubleheader with the men's team at Class of 1952 Stadium. The opening draw is set for 12 p.m.
The game will be webstreamed live on Tiger Zone for registered users. Live audio and stats will also be available free of charge.
Princeton leads Harvard in the all-time series, 23-15. The Tigers are on a 16-game winning streak over the Crimson with their last loss coming in the NCAA tournament in 1992. When playing in Princeton, the Tigers are 13-5 against the Cambridge program.
Princeton enters the weekend with a 9-1 overall ranking and sits in seventh and fifth place in the national polls. The Tigers are at the top of the Ivy League standings, along with Penn and Dartmouth, with a 3-0 record. Six of Princeton's 10 games have been against top-ranked teams, with its lone loss at No. 4 Duke.
The Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week senior Holly McGarvie leads the Tigers with 32 points with 19 goals and a team-high 13 assists. She also leads the team in ground balls with 30, draw controls with 24 and caused turnovers with 22. Sophomore Lizzy Drumm has scored the most goals on the squad, 24 total, to go along with seven helpers for 31 points. Senior Christine Casaceli has 21 points and has collected three game-winning goals. Classmate Kristin Schwab and junior Kristin Morrison have 19 points apiece and combined for five game winners. Seniors Sarah Steele and Anne Murray along with freshman Cassie Pyle are also in double digits in scoring. Senior defender Marie McKenna picked up her first collegiate points this season and is second in ground balls and caused turnovers with 27 and 20 each. Sophomore Erin Tochihara has a 9-1 record as the team's starting goalie. She has a .564 save percentage and a 7.44 goals against average. She has made 84 saves on 149 shots on goal.
Harvard is 1-2 in the Ivy League to find itself fifth in the conference standings. The squad has losses to Brown and Penn and a win over Yale. The Crimson are 4-7 overall.
At the top of the scoring column is senior Kaitlin Martin who has tallied 34 goals, three of which were game winners, and had added 10 assists for 44 points. Sophomore Jess Halpen has scored a team-best 36 goals to go along with seven assists for 43 points. Junior Sara Flood has 27 points with a team-high 11 assists and 16 goals. Freshmen Tyler Petropulos and Katie Doherty are also in double digits in scoring. Petropulos leads the team in ground balls with 24 and in caused turnovers in 13. Petropulos is one draw control back from Flood who has a team-best 27. Freshman Kerry Clark has started in net in all 11 games and has a 4-6 record. She has a .399 save percentage and a 12.54 goals against average, making 89 saves on 223 shots on goal. Junior Katherine Martino provides back-up but has seen just 25 minutes this season.
Princeton and Harvard have both played Yale and Virginia this season. The Tigers are 2-0 against the teams with a 15-6 win over Yale and an 8-7 victory over Virginia. Harvard is 1-1 after an 8-5 win over Yale and a 13-9 loss to Virginia in its last game.
