September 18, 2009 | Women's Soccer
TOWSON, Md. -- Freshman Jen Hoy scored her first career goal in the 76th minute for the Princeton women's soccer team to square Friday's match at Towson, which ended in a 1-1 tie.
Four of Princeton's five matches this season have been decided by one goal or fewer, and the last four have been scoreless going into halftime. Towson pulled ahead with a 51st-minute goal by Brittany Hadaway.
Princeton (1-3-1) outshot Towson 16-7 and has tallied as many or more shots than its opponent in all five games this season. The tie was also the first of the season for Towson, which moved its record to 4-3-1.
Sophomore Kalie Bartholomew and senior Marci Pasenello each had four shots for half of Princeton's total.
The Tigers will return home to Roberts Stadium for a 6 p.m. game Sunday against No. 16 Rutgers that will be televised on tape-delay on Verizon FiOS 1 in the Central Jersey area.
