Men's Squash Remains Unbeaten In Ivy With 9-0 Win At Penn
January 28, 2010 | Men's Squash
Now this is closer to what head coach Bob Callahan envisioned before the start of the 2009-10 season. With a nearly full lineup in place, the fourth-ranked Princeton men's squash team swept Penn 9-0 at the Ringe Squash Courts in Philadelphia.
The win sets up a huge Ivy League showdown with the second-ranked Yale Bulldogs Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Jadwin Squash Courts. Princeton has won 23 straight Ivy League matches; its last league loss came at home against Yale in 2006.
Princeton still didn't have its full lineup, as reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Year Chris Callis was still out of the lineup. Callahan is hopeful Callis can return for the weekend, but his presence wasn't necessary Wednesday night. Led by freshman Todd Harrity, who remains undefeated at the No. 1 position, the Tigers swept through the lineup and dropped only one individual game during the match. That one loss came from sophomore All-America Kelly Shannon, who was playing his first match of the season after injury and claimed a 3-1 victory at No. 4.
