Nare Named ECAC Soccer Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/12/10) - Sophomore Lester Nare of the Princeton men's soccer team has been named the ECAC Offensive Player of the Week it was announced by the league office on Tuesday, Oct. 12.
Nare was named the Ivy League Player of the Week and the GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week presented by Coach USA on Monday, Oct. 11.
Nare led Princeton with a five-point week as the Tigers went 2-0. The midfielder scored two goals against No. 13 ranked Brown, something no other player in Division I soccer can say they've done against the Bears this season. Brown entered the game undefeated at 7-0-2 and had allowed just one goal all season prior. Nare scored in the 16th and 30th minutes. Earlier in the week, Nare earned an assist in a 3-2 win over Seton Hall. Princeton is now 6-3-1 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League.
The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) is the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with approximately 300 member institutions ranging across 16 states from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois. The ECAC's first commissioner was Asa S. Bushnell a 1921 graduate of Princeton. The ECAC is headquartered in Cape Cod, at the Asa S. Bushnell Center.
The ECAC selects Players of the Week based on each conference's players of the week and nominations from independent schools, in the sports of men's and women's soccer, football and field hockey during the fall.
