Zane Kalemba Named ECAC Goalie of the Week
February 01, 2010 | Men's Ice Hockey
Kalemba started the week with nine saves in the first period of a non-conference win over UConn. He then started back-to-back games over the weekend and led Princeton to its first league weekend sweep of the season as the Tigers won at Harvard and Dartmouth.
At Harvard, Kalemba stopped 34 of 35 shots in a 2-1 win at Harvard. Thirteen of the saves came in the final period as Princeton withstood a Harvard push late. The following day at Dartmouth, Kalemba faced 30 shots and stopped 27 of them to move Princeton within a game of .500 at 9-10-2.
Kalemba and the Tigers did not allow an even-strength goal in the three games. He improved to 5-6-2 overall with the win. The award was Kalemba's second of the season and the sixth of his career. He and his Princeton teammates are back in action this weekend at home against Colgate and Cornell.
