February 13, 2010 | Women's Tennis
BOSTON -- Princeton's women's tennis team swept Columbia 7-0 to open ECAC Championship play Friday evening in Boston.
The top-seeded Tigers will now face fifth-seeded Dartmouth Saturday at 2 p.m. in the tournament semifinal. Princeton advanced to the finals a year ago before dropping a 4-3 decision to Yale. In the other semifinal, second-seeded Harvard will face third-seeded Yale.
Hilary Bartlett prevailed for Princeton in the only meeting of ranked singles players among the two teams, as the 121st-ranked Bartlett defeated No. 112 Nicole Bartnik, 7-5, 6-3. Those rankings are from Jan. 5, and new rankings will be available Feb. 18.
