Volleyball Drops EIVA Opener 3-0 At Springfield

Despite 13 kills and six digs from junior outside Vincent Tuminelli, the Princeton men's volleyball team dropped its EIVA Tait opener Friday night at Springfield College 3-0.
Princeton was in each of the three sets at Springfield, the second-ranked team in Division III, but it couldn't steal one from the home team. Springfield took the opening set 30-25 and then won the final two by matching 30-26 scores.
Tuminelli led Princeton with 13 kills, while freshman outside Pat Schwagler followed closely with 12 kills. Senior Carl Hamming added 10 kills and a team-best seven digs. Libero Manny Sardinha also had seven digs for the Tigers, who fell to 2-5 overall with the loss.
Sophomore Scott Liljestrom recorded 42 assists, while senior Jeff McCown led Princeton with four blocks.
The Tigers will take on Harvard Saturday night.
