PRINCETON -- On the heels of Saturday's win over No. 20 Vanderbilt, the 63rd-ranked Princeton women's tennis team knocked off another major-conference opponent, defeating Syracuse 6-1 Sunday in Jadwin Gym.
Princeton swept the doubles point, and Hilary Bartlett made it three wins over ITA-ranked singles players in two days by defeating Syracuse's CC Sardinha in straight sets. Wins by Melissa Saiontz, Rachel Saiontz, Taylor Marable and Blakely Ashley allowed Princeton to rack up six points on the day.
The Tigers will head to the Midwest next weekend for matches against a pair of Big Ten schools, Iowa and Minnesota. Though new rankings will come out Tuesday, Minnesota (6-3) is ranked 52nd while Iowa (5-1) is unranked.
