PRINCETON (2/22/10) - Will MacDonald was named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week on Monday following a two-goal and two-assist weekend in the Princeton men's hockey team's split at Union and Rensselaer.

MacDonald raised his point total from three to seven with the four points. He started with an assist on Kevin Lohry's goal in a 4-1 loss on Friday at Union. A day later, MacDonald registered his first multiple-goal and point game of the season, scoring twice and assisting Brodie Zuk's goal in the Tigers' 7-0 shutout win.

MacDonald becomes the second Tiger this season to claim the league's weekly top rookie award and the third Tiger to claim a league superlative. Eric Meland was the league's top rookie for the week of Dec. 14 and Zane Kalemba has received two Goalie of the Week awards.

Princeton returns to action on Friday night when it hosts fourth-ranked Yale at 7 p.m.
