Morrison and Tochihara Nab First Weekly Ivy Honors in Women's Lax

PRINCETON, N.J. (3/1/10) - Princeton senior attacker Kristin Morrison and junior goalkeeper Eric Tochihara have been named the Co-Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week in women's lacrosse it was announced by the Ivy League office on Monday, March 1.
Morrison scored at 2:26 in overtime to give Princeton a 10-9 win over Johns Hopkins in the 2010 season opener at Homewood Field on Saturday, Feb. 27. She scored four goals and added an assist to lead the Tigers offensively. She also led the team in caused turnovers with three and ground balls with four. Morrison helped the Tigers gain a 2-0 lead notching both goals in the first seven minutes of the game. She earned a hat trick in the second half as Princeton was down 8-6, to help the Tigers come within one goal. Morrison had the assist on the 8-8 tying goal when she picked up a loose ball and sent it to Drumm for the score. Morrison scored the overtime goal when she drove inside the critical scoring area for the goal with 2:26 to play.
Morrison shares the honor with Penn's Ali DeLuca.
Tochihara made 12 saves in the overtime win. Four of her saves came on free-position shots and she one of her saves on the first shot in overtime by Hopkins' Angela Hughes to keep the game tied at 9-9. Tochihara finished the game with a .571 save percentage and an 8.18 goals against average.
