Women's Lacrosse Resumes Ivy Play at Columbia on Wednesday

PRINCETON, N.J. (3/23/10) - The Princeton women's lacrosse team resumes Ivy League play on Wednesday, March 24 when it travels to Columbia for a 7 p.m., game.

Princeton is undefeated against Columbia with a 12-0 record. The series began in 1998, a 17-1 win at Columbia. The Tigers have outscored the Lions 196-42 in the series.
No. 19 ranked Princeton is 1-0 in the Ivy League and 2-4 overall. The Tigers are 2-0 when playing on the road this season. Junior Lizzy Drumm leads the team in scoring with 18 goals and five assists for 23 points. Senior Kristin Morrison adds 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points, while sophomore Barb Previ has nine points. Freshman Charlotte Davis and sophomore Cassie Pyle have seven points apiece. Sophomore Lindsey deButts leads the team in draw controls and caused turnovers and is second in ground balls. Junior Erin Tochihara has started all six games and has an 11.34 goals against average and a .477 save percentage. Senior Kaitlyn Perrelle has played in three games and has an 8.42 GAA and a .500 save percentage.
The Lions are 3-2 on the season and have lost the two league games they've played against Cornell 9-7 and Dartmouth, 15-1. Columbia won its last match a 15-13 game at Stony Brook last Saturday. Kacie Johnson leads the team in scoring with 17 points with nine goals and nine assists. Brittany Shannon has 15 points off of 12 goals and three assists while Gabrielle Geronimos has a team-best 13 goals and one assist for 14 points. Taylor Gattinella is also in double digits in the scoring column with eight goals and two assists. Gattinella and Sarah Avallone lead the team in ground balls and draw controls. Karlee Blank has played every minute in goal for the Lions and has an 11.67 goals against average and a .468 save percentage.
