PRINCETON, N.J. (3/26/10) - No. 9 Georgetown hosts No. 19 Princeton in women's lacrosse on Sunday, March 28 at Multi-Sport Field at 1 p.m.
The game will be televised regionally on Verizon FiOS and will be webstreamed for a fee. Live stats will also be available free of charge.
Princeton holds a slim 9-6 edge in the all-time series and won last year's meeting a 15-9 win in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. The last two meetings in Georgetown, the Hoyas have won.
The two teams have both faced Johns Hopkins and Duke. Both teams defeated Johns Hopkins and lost to Duke.
Princeton sports a 3-4 overall record and is ranked No. 19 in the IWLCA poll. The Tigers most recently posted a 15-5 win over Columbia. Junior Lizzy Drumm leads the team in scoring with 18 goals and five assists for 23 points. Senior Kristin Morrison has 19 points off of 11 goals and eight assists. Sophomore Barb Previ is also in double digits with eight goals and four assists. Freshman Charlotte Davis adds nine points, while nine other Tigers have two or more points. Sophomore defender Lindsey deButts is the team leader in ground balls and draw controls. Junior Erin Tochihara has started all seven games in goal for Princeton and has a 10.69 goals against average and a .474 save percentage. Senior Kaitlyn Perrelle has played in four games and has a 7.65 GAA and a .520 save percentage.
Georgetown is 2-4 overall and is ranked No. 9/14 in the national polls. The Hoyas are on a three-game losing streak falling to Duke, Maryland and North Carolina. The team will face Villanova on Friday before hosting Princeton. Molly Ford is the team's leading scorer with 19 goals and 24 points overall. Ashby Kaestner and Jordy Kirr each have 13 points and Erin Lovett adds 10. Kaestner is the team's draw control leader with 16 while Logan McCraw has won 11. McCraw also leads the team in ground balls. Caitlin Formy has started all six games between the pipes and has a 13.58 GAA and a .415 save percentage. Back-up Lauren Thomas has seen less than 20 minutes and has made one save on three shots.
