Women's Lacrosse Hosts No. 2 Maryland Under the Lights Wednesday Night

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/12/10) - The Princeton women's lacrosse team will host its highest-ranked opponent of the season on Wednesday, April 14 with No. 3 Maryland comes to Princeton Stadium for a 7 p.m., match.
The game will be televised regionally on a tape delay on Verizon FiOS1. Fans can watch the webstream of the game on GoPrincetonTigers.tv, as well as listen to live audio and follow live stats both of which are free of charge.
Maryland has an overwhelming 21-8 margin in the all-time series with Princeton. The teams first met in April 1979 with Princeton posting an 8-7 victory. The Terrapins have won the last three meetings including a 20-12 game last season in College Park.
Princeton is 5-6 overall and 3-1 in the Ivy League after knocking off Yale 11-2 last Saturday. Despite a below .500 record the Tigers are outscoring their opponents 123-113 and average four more shots a game. The Tigers are led offensively by junior Lizzy Drumm who has 34 points on 26 goals and eight assists. Senior Kristin Morrison has a team-best 10 assists and 18 goals for 28 points. Sophomores Barb Previ and Cassie Pyle add 20 and 18 points, respectively. Sophomore defender Lindsey deButts leads the team in the center circle winning 29 draws, while senior Jenna Washabaugh has 22 taking the majority of the draws. Junior Erin Tochihara has started all 11 games between the pipes and has a .466 save percentage and a 10.16 goals against average. Senior Kaitlyn Perrelle has adding back up in six games and has a .438 save percentage and an 8.77 GAA.
Maryland enters tonight's game with a 12-1 overall record and a No. 3 ranking in the national poll. The Terrapins dropped their first game of the season on Saturday, a 13-9 loss at UNC. The Terps are outscoring their opponents 186-96 and average 33 shots a game to their opponents' 17. Leading the offense is sophomore Karri Ellen Johnson who has 38 goals and 11 assists for 49 points. She also leads the team in draw controls with 44. Senior Caitlyn McFadden also has 49 points on a team-high 22 assists and 27 goals. Adding depth is junior Sarah Mollison with 36 points, freshman Katie Schwarzmann with 28 and junior Brandi Jones with 26. Maryland has used three goalies but leans towards sophomore Brittany Dipper as the starter. She has started in 12 games and has an 8-1 record, a .387 save percentage and an 8.19 goals against average. Sophomore Mary Jordan has played in seven games and has a .487 save percentage and a 5.82 GAA, while freshman Kasey Howard has made four appearances.
