Women's Lacrosse Begins Final Ivy League Run at Harvard

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/15/10) - The Princeton women's lacrosse team has completed its non-conference schedule and will play three key Ivy League matches in the next week to determine which will determine its post season fate. The Tigers will start off with an away game at Harvard on Saturday, April 17 at 1 p.m.
The game will be webstreamed on Harvard's site for a fee of $6.95 and live stats will be available free of charge. Links are provided above.
Princeton has a 24-15 record against Harvard in the series that began in 1974. The Tigers have won the last 17 meetings including a 17-5 game last year. The last time Harvard won was in 1992 when they won 11 straight games in the series. The Crimson is 8-9 against the Tigers when playing in Cambridge.
Princeton enters the weekend with a 5-7 record after falling 13-6 to No. 3 Maryland on Wednesday. The Tigers boast a 3-1 Ivy League record to sit in third place in the standings. Junior Lizzy Drumm leads the attack with 26 goals and eight assists for 34 points. Senior Kristin Morrison has a team-best 11 assists to go along with 20 goals for 31 points. Sophomores Barb Previ and Cassie Pyle have 20 and 19 points respectively. Sophomore Lindsey deButts leads the team in caused turnovers (16), draw controls (29) and ground balls (29). Junior Erin Tochihara has started all 12 games in net and has made 97 saves on 205 shots for a .473 save percentage and a 10.44 goals against average.
Harvard is 1-3 in the league and is in seventh place in the league. They are 5-6 overall and most recently recorded a 15-9 win over Holy Cross. Jennifer VanderMeulen has scored 41 goals and has 49 points to lead the Crimson offense. Melanie Baskind and Sara Flood each have 23 points, with Baskind scoring 17 goals and adding six assists, while Flood leads the team in assists with nine and has scored 14 goals. Danielle Tetreault adds 20 points. Baskind leads the team in ground balls (34) and caused turnovers (21), while VanderMeulen and Micaela Cyr each have a team-high 21 draw control wins. Katherine Martino has made nine starts between the pipes and has a 4-4 record. She has stopped 60 of 143 shots for a .420 save percentage and a 9.89 GAA. Kerry Clark has played in four games and has a 1-2 record with 17 saves and 37 goals allowed.
