Four Tigers Named All-Region in Women's Lacrosse

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/28/10) - Four members of the Princeton women's lacrosse team were named All-Region it was announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association on Friday, May 28.
Earning Mid-Atlantic Region First-Team honors are sophomore defender Lindsey deButts, junior attacker Lizzy Drumm and junior goalie Erin Tochihara, while senior attacker Kristin Morrison was named to the second team.
These athletes are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-America teams, which will be announced on Monday, May 31.
deButts was a unanimous first-team All-Ivy League selection this season. She started all 16 games this season as the Tigers' defensive mainstay. She led the team in ground balls, caused turnovers and draw controls. She has won 37 draws, caused 23 turnovers and picked up 35 ground balls. In addition she scored her first collegiate goal this season at Georgetown and an assist against Maryland.
A first-team All-Ivy League honoree this season, Drumm finished the seaosn as Princeton's leading scorer with 32 goals and nine assists for 41 points. She added 22 draw controls, 16 ground balls and five caused turnovers. A second-team all-region selection last season, Drumm was one of Princeton's team captains this season Highlighting her play this year was a six-goal game against James Madison, where she finished with seven points and a career-best four draw controls. Drumm scored in 11 games this season and posted 11 multiple-point games.
A second-team All-America and first-team all region selection in 2009, Tochihara nabbed second-team All-Ivy accolades in 2009 and 2010. Tochihara started all 16 games between the pipes for the Tigers this season. She has made 138 saves on 284 shots for a .486 save percentage and a 10.83 goals against average. Tochihara stopped a season-best 14 shots against Maryland and Dartmouth. She posted a career best GAA of 2.00 versus Yale earlier in the season and was named the Defensive Player of the Week on March 1 after making 12 saves, four on free-position attempts, in an overtime win over Johns Hopkins. In addition she has 34 ground balls this season and caused one turnover.
An honorable mention All-Ivy selection and a member of the first Ivy League All-Tournament Team, Morrison led the team in assists with 13 and adds 26 goals for 39 points, the second most on the team. She started all 16 games and had 24 ground balls, 19 caused turnovers and nine draw controls as one of the team's captains. Morrison was named the Ivy League Co-Offensive Player of the Week on March 1 after scoring the overtime goal in a 10-9 win over Johns Hopkins. She has scored in 14 games this season and recently had a 17-game point scoring streak halted. Morrison recorded 12 multiple-point games including a five-point game at Hopkins.Mid-Atlantic Region First Team
