Former Princeton Laxer Named Assistant Coach at Virginia Tech

Princeton women's lacrosse alumnae Anne Murray has been named an assistant coach at Virginia Tech it was announced by the Hookies athletic department and interim head coach Megan Burker on Wednesday, August 18.
"I am excited to have Lindsay [Lewis] and Anne round out our staff,” Burker said, “They each have different playing and coaching experiences, but both bring a lot of creative energy and teaching expertise to the field. As a group, we have a lot of enthusiasm and we are ready to push this team to the next level."
Murray, a 2009 graduate of Princeton, spent last season on the Mount St. Mary's coaching staff and was responsible for assisting in the day-to-day team practices and workouts, while also coordinating recruiting efforts, team travel and scouting reports.
As a four-year letterwinner at Princeton, Murray played every field position during her career. She competed in 64 games for the Tigers and has 21 goals and eight assists for her career. As a senior she was a key contributor to the Tiger attack scoring 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points. She posted the best game of her career against Dartmouth on April 18, 2009, when she came off the bench to lead the team with four goals. Murray was a part of four NCAA Tournament teams, reaching the quarterfinal round three of those four years. Murray scored a goal against Northwestern in the 2008 quarterfinals and had assists against Loyola and Northwestern in the first and quarterfinal rounds in 2009, respectively.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Murray earned a degree in history.
