Women's Soccer Suffers 1-0 Loss at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. (10/1/11) - The Princeton women's soccer team outshot Dartmouth 13-5 but a goal by Dartmouth's Aly O'Dea in the 88th minute would decide the game, 1-0 on Burnham Field on Saturday, Oct. 1.
The ball was loose in the Princeton box and the defense couldn't clear it. Junior keeper Kristin Watson made a play for the ball but was already pulled out of position and couldn't get there in time as O'Dea knocked it in.
Princeton had an incredible 10-1 shot advantage in the second half and took six corners while not giving one up.
Freshman Lauren Lazo would take five of her team's 13 shots, and sophomore Gabriella Guzman had three to her credit.
Watson made her first start of the season and had to made just one save, which came in the 7th minute on a Marina Moschitto shot.
Dartmouth's keeper Colleen Hogan made three stops and was backed up by her two defensive team saves.
Princeton finished with a 13-5 advantage in shots and a 9-2 edge in corner kicks.
This is the sixth straight game in the series that has been decided by one goal.
Princeton (1-7-1, 0-2 Ivy) will continue Ivy play with it travels to Brown next Saturday, Oct. 8 for a 4 p.m., game.
