Men's Hockey Falls to Brown 3-2

HANOVER, N.H. (10/29/11) - The Princeton's men's hockey team dropped a 3-2 game to Brown in the third game of the Ivy Shootout on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Thompson Arena.
A Princeton tripping penalty tripped up the Tigers as Brown would score twice on the call, getting two goals in 1:53, to take a 3-1 lead in the second frame.
With a delayed penalty call on Princeton, Brown netminder Mike Clemente skated to the bench and seven seconds later Brown would take a 2-1 lead on an extra attacker goal from Garnet Hathaway. Princeton's Tom Kroshus would still go to the box on that delayed penalty. Brown's Ryan Jacobson expanded the Bears' lead scoring a power play goal with just seven seconds left on the tripping call.
Massimo Lamacchia put Brown on the scoreboard just 1:03 into the game.Junior Michael Sdao would knot the game at 1-1 at 1:12 of the second period, scoring on the power play with help from sophomore Andrew Calof. It was Sdao's second goal and Calof's first point of the season.
Senior Brodie Zuk would get his first goal of the year and inched the Tigers within one with a goal at 1:11 of the third with help from sophomore Andrew Ammon.
Brown took a tripping call itself at 19:09 of the third and Princeton pulled goalie Mike Condon for the 5x3 to try to tie the game. Andrew Calof won the ensuing faceoff and Princeton peppered Clemente with shots. He came up big for the Bears, making five saves in that final 51 seconds, while an additional shot by was blocked.
Condon finished his first game of the season with 23 saves, while Clemente made 37.Princeton outshot Brown 39-26 in the game, went 1 for 5 on the power play and 2 for 3 on the penalty kill.
Princeton hosts Quinnipiac in the home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m., at Baker Rink.
