Men's Tennis Falls to Binghamton in ECAC Semifinal
February 20, 2011 | Men's Tennis
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- No. 67 Binghamton got by the No. 74 Princeton men's tennis team, 4-3, in the ECAC semifinal Sunday afternoon at Harvard.
Binghamton will advance to Monday's final against either Harvard or Cornell.
Binghamton took the doubles point with wins at second and third and then took the singles matches on the top three courts to claim the match. No. 1 singles was the only match to go all three sets, with Binghamton's Sven Vloedgraven, the No. 81-ranked singles player by the ITA, rallied to beat Princeton's Matija Pecotic and win the fourth point.
Matt Siow won in both singles and doubles for the Tigers, teaming with Pecotic to win at first doubles and defeating Gilbert Wong 6-0, 6-3 at fourth singles.
The match ends Princeton's ECAC run, and the Tigers will resume the dual-meet schedule next Sunday against NJIT at Jadwin Gym.
