PRINCETON, N.J. (3/23/11) - The Princeton women's lacrosse game against Columbia tonight, March 23, has been halted due to lightning, thunder, hail and snow.
The game will re-played in its entirety on Wednesday, April 27 at 7 p.m., here at Princeton Stadium. NCAA rules states that the game must be played in its entirety to count.
Princeton had a 5-4 lead when the game was stopped as lightning flashed with 24:21 remaining in the second half. It drizzled most of the day today in Princeton with the rain and wind starting to pick up in the first half.
The officials and teams waited for the lightning and thunder to stop but the snow covered the field deeming it unplayable.
