Calof Named Ivy Rookie of the Year; Fedun and Kramer Earn All-Ivy Honors
March 03, 2011 | Men's Ice Hockey
Calof was the Co-Rookie of the Year with Dartmouth's Matt Linblad. Calof led Princeton with 30 points during the regular season on seven goals and 23 assists to become Princeton's first 30-point scorer since the 2007-08 season. He is the first Princeton freshman to lead the team in scoring since Grant Goeckner-Zoeller had a team-high 20 points in the 2003-04 season. His 30 points is the fourth-highest total for a Princeton freshman.
Calof was the only player in the ECAC to average better than a point per game in the regular season and in Ivy only games, he was part of a five-way tie atop the scoring charts with 11 points. Calof was also named a first-team All-Ivy in addition to his nod as Co-Rookie of the Year. He is Princeton's fourth Ivy League Rookie of the Year, joining a list that includes John Messuri (1986), Greg Polaski (1987) and Andre Faust (1989).
He was joined on the first team by Fedun. The senior defenseman has 21 points this season with 10 goals and 11 assists and is Princeton's first 20-point defenseman since Mike Moore's 24 in 2007-08. Fedun was a second-team All-Ivy and All-ECAC performer as a junior. Fedun has set career highs in goals and points this season.
Kramer received an honorable mention. The senior forward has a team-high 13 goals this season, and along with 15 assists, ranks second on the team with 28 points to average exactly a point per game this season. All three categories represent career highs for Kramer, who is also a team-best +15 this season.
Calof, Fedun, Kramer and the Tigers begin the postseason this weekend at home with a best-of-three ECAC First-Round series against St. Lawrence. Tickets for the weekend are available online or by calling (609) 258-4TIX.
