April 01, 2011 | Men's Tennis
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Four singles wins led the Princeton men's tennis team to its second Ivy League victory in as many tries Friday afternoon as the Tigers outlasted Brown 4-3.
Princeton will continue its southern New England trip at Yale for a 2 p.m. match Saturday.
Augie Bloom, whose win clinched the Penn match last Saturday, and Matt Siow won two out of the three singles matches to go to a third set against the Bears. Siow's win included a 13-11 tiebreak win in the third set on court four. Coupled with straight set wins from Matija Pecotic and Dan Richardson, the Tigers were able to clinch the match and stay undefeated in Ivy League play.
Brown took the doubles point, despite a win from Pecotic and Siow over Brown's ranked doubles pair of Soufiane Azargui and Brandon Burke, and followed it up with wins at second and sixth singles for its three points.
