Princeton made the second-seeded George Mason Patriots work for it, but the Tiger men's volleyball team dropped a tight 3-1 decision in its Tait Division finale.
Senior Vincent Tuminelli was terrific in his final divisional match, recording 17 kills and 13 digs for the Tigers, who fell to 3-16 with the loss and will look to end the season in positive fashion Saturday afternoon when it hosts Sacred Heart at 2 p.m. Fellow senior Keenan McCarthy recorded nine kills and five blocks, while sophomore Michael Dye added 13 kills and two blocks.
Sophomore Scott Liljestrom paced the offense with 38 assists, while libero Davis Waddell added five digs.
Princeton opened the match with a 30-28 victory, but Mason rallied for convincing wins in the second and third sets. The Tigers thwarted a pair of match balls in the fourth and drew even at 24-24, but Mason took the final two points to clinch the win.
