Pyle Named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. (4/25/11) - Junior Cassie Pyle of the Princeton women's lacrosse team has been named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week it was announced by the league office on Monday, April 25.
Pyle led Princeton in scoring during the week with six goals and one assist for seven points as the Tigers played both No. 8 Penn and No. 14 Dartmouth on the road within three days of each other. She had three goals and one assist at Penn, as Princeton delivered the Quakers their first Ivy League loss in 35 games. Pyle scored on each of her three shots on goal. She converted a free position to give Princeton a 1-0 lead. With the score tied at 3-3, Pyle regained the lead for the Tigers at 12:44 when she drove through her defenders down the lane and for the score. Pyle notched her third goal at 26:27 of the second to help Princeton take a 9-5 lead shooting low far post. At Dartmouth, Pyle recorded her second consecutive hat trick. She converted a free-position attempt at 23:30 in the second half, and tried to get her team back in the game as she scored back-to-back unassisted goals in a span of 1:17 to make it a 15-10 game.
Pyle ranks third on the team in scoring with 29 points and is the team's second-leading goal scorer with 21 tallies.
Princeton hosts Columbia on Wedneday, April 27 at 7 p.m., at Princeton Stadium.
