deButts, Drumm, Tochihara Earn Synapse Sports All-America Accolades

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/31/11) - Princeton's Lindsey deButts, Lizzy Drumm and Erin Tochihara were captured All-America honors by Synapse Sports (formerly womenslacrosse.com) this weekend.
deButts and Drumm were both named to the second team, while Tochihara earned third team honors.This is deButts second All-America honor of the 2011 season, having earned the honors by WomensLax.com. She was also a second-team selection by this same organization last year. A junior defender, deButts was named first-team all-region by the IWLCA and first-team All-Ivy League this season. A native of Alexandria, Va., deButts led the Tigers and was second in the league in caused turnovers with 31. She was also the team leader in ground balls with 41, ranking her third in the league. In addition, she accumulated 24 draw controls, the second-most on the team.
Drumm was named first-team all-region by the IWLCA last week. She is also a unanimous first-team All-Ivy League selection and was named to the Ivy League All-Tournament team. Drumm was also a member of the Tewaaraton Trophy Watch List. Drumm finished second on the team in scoring with 48 points with a team-high 45 goals and three assists. She also led the team in draw controls with 43 placing her fourth in the league in that category. A senior tri-captain, Drumm started all 19 games at midfield and had a point in each of the last 13 games of the season.
Tochihara captures her second All-America honor from the organization, earning second-team honors in 2009. She was named first-team all-region by the IWLCA and was an honorable mention All-Ivy selection. Tochihara started in every game this season and finishing with a 12-7 overall record. She made 181 saves, averaging 9.5 saves per game. Tochihara finished the season with a 10.18 goals against average, the third best in the league, and a .481 save percentage, the second best in the league.
