Men's Water Polo Improves to 8-0 With Win Over Fordham

Princeton jumped to a big lead in the win, outscoring Fordham 5-1 in the opening quarter and 7-2 at the half. Mike Helou scored three goals to lead the Princeton offense while Tommy Donahue, Drew Hoffenberg and Matt Weber all chipped in two goals apiece to lead Princeton's eight goal scorers. A.J. Galainena, Donahue and Kurt Buchbinder added a pair of assists in the game and Billy Tifft had a team-high four assists.
Princeton scored on both of its man-up chances and Hoffenberg scored the first of his goals on a 5-meter shot. Fordham scored on one of its two chances. Tyler Amina made five saves in the opening half while Nick Gilligan stopped four shots in the second half.
Princeton now stands 8-0 this season. The Tigers' start is its best since the 2004 team opened its season with 10 consecutive wins. Princeton will visit Johns Hopkins, George Washington and Navy next weekend to open its Southern Division schedule.
