Women's Lacrosse Tabbed Ivy Favorite in National Polls

The Princeton women's lacrosse team is ranked in the top-10 of two national preseason polls. The Tigers are ranked No. 8 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) preseason poll and No. 7 in the Lacrosse Magazine poll.
Princeton is the highest ranked Ivy League team in both polls.
The Tigers finished ninth in the final IWLCA poll of 2011 after reaching the NCAA Quarterfinals, falling to the national runner-up Maryland. Princeton finished the season with a 12-7 overall record and a 5-2 mark in the Ivy League. The Tigers won the 2011 Ivy League Championship as the No. 4 seed.
Princeton will face eight teams that are in the poll. The Tigers will face Duke (5/4) in the third game of the season, Virginia (10/6) two games later and Maryland (2/2) in early April. All three games will be played at home. Princeton will face take on Penn State (17/15) on the road, as well as Johns Hopkins, a team receiving votes. The Tigers will play Penn (11/12) in the final home game of the year, four days after hosting Dartmouth (14/13). The final team appearing in the poll on Princeton's schedule is Harvard, a team receiving votes.
