May 21, 2012 | Men's Ice Hockey
Princeton head men's hockey coach Bob Prier has announced the student-athletes who will serve as captains for the 2012-13 season.
Captaining the squad will be junior Jack Berger, with assistant captaincy to senior Rob Kleebaum, junior Kevin Ross and senior Michael Sdao.
Berger finished second on the team in scoring this past season with 22 points on 10 goals and 12 assists. He recorded six multiple-point games playing in every game during his sophomore season. He was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week on Dec. 6 after a five-point weekend against Union and Rensselaer. Berger is a finalist for the 2012 ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year award.
In 31 games, Kleebaum scored 13 goals and added eight assists during the 2011-12 campaign. He has been the team's second-leading goal scorer in both of his first two seasons as a Tiger.
Ross appeared in 28 games while suffering two injuries during the season. He scored his first career goals, two of which were game-tying goals and added one more, in addition to seven assists.
Sdao is an assistant captain for the second consecutive season. The Ottawa Senators draft pick appeared in 30 games and had 20 points on 10 goals and 10 assists. His 10 goals was the most goals by a defender in the ECAC. In turn he was named first-team All-Ivy League and second-team All-ECAC Hockey League.
