INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (3/15/13) - Former Princeton hockey player Eric Meland has signed a contract with the Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League.
Mavericks' head coach Scott Hillman had this to say about Meland: "Eric is a great skater and handles the puck very well," said Mavericks' Head Coach Scott Hillman. "He is very skilled with the puck and has the ability to move it efficiently up the ice. He is also adept to jumping into the rush in order to add additional offense. We are excited to add Eric to our lineup as we strive to bring our roster back to health during this final leg of the regular season in preparation for the playoffs."
Meland recently completed his senior year on the hockey team. He played both forward and defense for the Tigers and finished his career with 16 goals and 44 assists in 118 games. This past senior Meland collected 13 points on 11 assists and two goals in 25 games.
