PRINCETON, N.J. (7/6/13) - Princeton alums Holly McGarvie Reilly '09 and Sam Ellis '13 are on track to face off against each other as the 2013 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women's World Cup championship bracket has been unveiled.
McGarvie Reilly and Team US went undefeated in pool play and earned the No. 1 seed. The US defeated England 17-7, Wales 19-2, Australia 18-9 and Canada 13-4. Team Israel lost just one game in its first World Cup and is seeded No. 9. Ellis and her team beat Germany 15-6, Scotland 15-6, Korea 19-2, Hong Kong 19-4 and lost to Japan 12-11 in overtime.
Israel needs to get by Haudenosaunee (the Iroquis) in the first round. The game is tomorrow, Wednesday, July 17 at 11:30 a.m. The winner will face the US in the quarterfinal on Thursday, July 18 at 12:30 p.m.
