Volleyball Opens Second Half Of Ivy Season With Home Battle vs. Penn

The second half of the Ivy League season begins Friday night at Dillon Gym, as the Princeton women's volleyball team (9-8, 4-3 Ivy) plays host to travel partner Penn (6-12, 3-4) in the lone match of the weekend for both squads.

THE FIRST TIME
Junior Kendall Peterkin recorded 14 kills and 11 digs, while senior middle Nicole Kincade had 13 kills and seven blocks, to lead Princeton to a 25-15, 25-16, 25-14 victory over Penn Sept. 26 in the Ivy League opener for both teams.
CLOSE CALLS
While the first meeting this season was a 3-0 Princeton win at the Palestra, six of the last nine meetings between the two schools have been decided in 3-2 thrillers.
POINT IT OUT
Junior opposite Kendall Peterkin, the lone four-time Ivy League Player of the Week this season, continues to rank in the Top 20 nationally in both points and kills this season. She currently ranks 14th in the NCAA with 5.19 points per set, and she ranks 17th in kills with 4.46 per set.
SET THE TABLE
Princeton sophomore Lauren Miller leads the Ivy League with 10.62 assists per set. She has also paced a Princeton offense that is hitting .214 this season, third-best in the league.
HIGH EFFICIENCY
Princeton's starting middles, Brittany Ptak and Nicole Kincade, both rank among the Ivy's Top 5 in hitting percentage. Ptak, a sophomore in her first season as a starter, ranks fourth with a .333 attack percentage, while Kincade, one of the Ivy leaders in blocks, is fifth with a .325 percentage.
SCOUTING PENN
Penn has shown vast improvement over the last two weeks, posting wins over both Brown and Dartmouth and losing at Harvard in five sets. Alexis Genske led the Quakers with 17 kills in the win over Dartmouth, while Emmy Friedler had 34 digs in the 3-2 win over Brown.
THE CRYSTAL BALL
Princeton will head to both Columbia and Cornell next weekend. The Tigers defeated Columbia 3-1 and Cornell 3-0 during Princeton's first home weekend of the season.
