| 1978 | Princeton achieves its first winning season, going 6-1-3 with nine straight unbeaten games to close the season |
| 1983 | Princeton makes the NCAA tournament for the first time, reaching the quarterfinals after a first-round win over Dartmouth |
| 1987 | Chris Sailer becomes Princeton's head coach, a post she still holds 27 years and 344 wins later |
| 1989 | Two years after winning just three games, Princeton posts a 14-3 record, then the most wins in program history, and beats Virginia to open the NCAA tournament and reach the NCAA semifinals |
| 1993 | Princeton reaches the NCAA championship game for the first time, setting what was then a program record for wins with 15 before Virginia took the title with an 8-6 overtime win over the Tigers |
| 1994 | In a return to the NCAA finals, Princeton breaks through this time, beating Virginia in overtime in the semis and Maryland 10-7 in the finals, avenging the team's only defeat in a 16-1 season |
| 1999 | Crista Samaras '99 finishes a career that includes a program-record 189 goals and 270 points, two Ivy League Player of the Year awards and three All-America honors |
| 2002 | Princeton wins its second NCAA title and sets a program record, which would be matched in 2004, with 19 wins as the Tigers beat Georgetown 12-7 in the NCAA finals to avenge its only loss of the season |
| 2003 | Princeton makes it back-to-back NCAA championships by ending the season on a nine-game winning streak, beating Virginia 8-7 in overtime in the NCAA finals |
| 2011 | A year after playing in the inaugural event, Princeton wins the Ivy League Tournament, beating Harvard 12-10 in the final to win an NCAA automatic bid |
The 150th anniversary of the first intercollegiate athletic event in Princeton University history will be Nov. 22, 2014, which will be 150 years to the day that Princeton defeated Williams 27-16 in a baseball game. As part of the 150th celebration, Princeton will be commemorating the history of each of its 38 varsity teams, in reverse order of the time they became varsity programs.
