| 1925 | Princeton's first varsity season consists of matches against Syracuse, Penn, Harvard and Yale, which the Tigers split. |
| 1946 | Coach Stan Sieja, for whom the fencing room is named, begins his Princeton head coaching career and wins the first two of what went on to be 258 victorious matches, still a program record |
| 1951 | Chambless Johnson '51 wins the first of what are now eight NCAA individual championships, taking the épée title |
| 1959 | Princeton wins its first of what are now 14 Ivy League championships, going 4-1 in the league |
| 1964 | Three years after a second-place finish, Princeton breaks through for the program's first NCAA team title |
| 1982 | Stan Sieja hands the coaching baton to Michel Sebastiani, the only two coaches the program had for 60 years |
| 1994 | Harald Winkmann '95 wins the NCAA épée title, the program's first individual NCAA title since 1964 |
| 1999 | Marco Acerra '99 (épée) and Max Pekarev '99 (foil) become the program's first four-time first-team All-Ivy League honorees |
| 2012 | Jonathan Yergler '13 wins the NCAA épée title, Princeton's first since Soren Thompson '05 won the épée title in 2001 |

The 150th anniversary of the first intercollegiate athletic event in Princeton University history will be Nov. 22, 2014, which will be 150 years to the day that Princeton defeated Williams 27-16 in a baseball game. As part of the 150th celebration, Princeton will be commemorating the history of each of its 38 varsity teams, in reverse order of the time they became varsity programs.
