| 1941 | Princeton wins the Quadrangular Championship, the first of its four Ivy League titles |
| 1959 | Richard Vaughan, Princeton's longest-tenured and winningest coach, ends his tenure after 24 seasons and 158 victories |
| 1963 | John Cook '63 closes his career with 67 goals, still the Princeton career record |
| 1970 | Syl Apps '70 becomes the first Tiger to play in the National Hockey league, suiting up for the New York Rangers for the beginning of a decade-long career |
| 1998 | Jeff Halpern '99 breaks a 39-year-old program record with 28 goals in the 1997-98 campaign |
| 1998 | Princeton makes the NCAA tournament for the first time, winning the ECAC tournament and facing Michigan to open the NCAAs in a game the Wolverines won 2-1 |

The 150th anniversary of the first intercollegiate athletic event in Princeton University history will be Nov. 22, 2014, which will be 150 years to the day that Princeton defeated Williams 27-16 in a baseball game. As part of the 150th celebration, Princeton will be commemorating the history of each of its 38 varsity teams, in reverse order of the time they became varsity programs.
