April 21, 2014 | Women's Lacrosse
PRINCETON, N.J. (4/21/14) - Princeton women's lacrosse senior Colleen Smith was named the Ivy League co-Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 20.
Smith had another outstanding week on the Princeton defense, as the Tigers swept No. 10 Penn and Dartmouth en route to winning the Ivy League title. It is Princeton's first title in seven years.
Smith anchors the defense that forced Penn into 13 turnovers and just 13 shots. She was also crucial in limiting Penn to just five goals, its fewest goals scored in an Ivy League game since April 15, 2006 vs. Dartmouth. On Saturday she earned an assist, had a team-high three caused turnovers and team-high three ground balls. The defense in general forced the Big Green into 14 turnovers and allowed just seven ground balls.
