PRINCETON, N.J. (8/14/14) - Princeton men's hockey alum Darroll Powe '07 has signed with the Philadelphia Flyers AHL affiliate Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Powe is a former Phantom, playing for the team after his senior season at Princeton was complete in 2007. Then the Phantoms were located in Philadelphia. He stayed in the organization for four years, playing with both the Phantoms and Flyers through 2011.
The 2011-12 season saw Powe move on to the Minnesota Wild and he would play eight games of the 2012-13 season there before being traded to the New York Rangers. An injury with the Rangers sent him to their affiliate Hartford this past season. He wore the "A" sweater as an alternate captain and scored 13 goals and 11 assists in 73 games with the Wolf Pack, earning 106 penalty minutes.
Powe has played in 329 career NHL games scoring 28 goals and 28 assists with 214 PIMs. He has made 43 postseason appearances, collecting five points and 17 PIMs. In the AHL, Powe has appeared in 168 games with 28 goals, 30 assists and 279 penalty minutes, with an additional 10 postseason games.
Lehigh Valley will play in the brand new PPL Center in Allentown, Pa., with preseason games at home on Oct. 1 & Oct. 4.
