Sanner & Colvin Sweep Ivy League Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. (1026/15) - Princeton men's soccer swept the Ivy League weekly honors this week as senior Thomas Sanner was named the Player of the Week and Jeremy Colvin was named Rookie of the Week.
Sanner had a seven-point week, scoring three goals and one assist as Princeton went 2-0. He scored both game-winning goals, one in double overtime, the other against Harvard who entered the game unbeaten in the Ivy League.
He had a hand in each of the Tigers' goals against the Mountaineerrs, including setting up the first goal in the 20th minute. With the Tigers down 2-1 in the 86th minute, Sanner tied the game when he scored on a centering pass and forced overtime. The golden goal came with just two minutes left in the second OT, when he knocked in a header. Sanner kept his hot play going against the Crimson, scoring the game-winning goal from a Jeremy Colvin's header off a restart just 1:12 into the second half.
Sanner was also named the GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week, presented by Coach USA.
Colvin had a six-point week with two goals and two assists. On Tuesday he scored his first career goal to tie the game with West Virginia at 1-1 in the 20th minute, firing in a centering pass. He then assisted on the golden goal in the 108th minute as he headed a cross towards the goal and Sanner fired in the walk-off goal. Colvin kept the high-level of play going Saturday at Harvard, scoring the opening goal less than eight minutes in when he dribbled by three defenders before punching the ball. Colvin then assisted on the game winner in the 47th minute off a restart, heading the ball towards the goal where it was finished by Sanner.
Princeton hosts Cornell on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m.
