Men's Squash Battles, But Can't Find Fifth Win In Road Match At Drexel
December 02, 2015 | Men's Squash
Freshman Cody Cortes showed impressive toughness at the No. 1 spot, fighting off multiple match balls in the fourth game, but the Tiger rookie finally fell 15-13 in the clincher to send Princeton to its second loss of the season.
Princeton split the first shift, which included a tough five-game win for senior Michael LeBlanc at the No. 6 spot. LeBlanc, who had to fight off a 13-11 loss in one of his early games, topped Mark Kauf 11-7 in the fifth to draw Princeton even at 2-2.
That victory followed another impressive 3-1 win for freshman Clark Doyle, who is undefeated after three challenging matches at the No. 2 spot. He topped Bransten Ming 11-9 in the fourth game to take his match and get Princeton on the board.
Former Ivy League Rookie of the Year Vivek Dinodia had one of the most dominant performances of the night, finishing his win at No. 7 with 11-3 and 11-5 victories. Senior Sam Ezratty followed with that by closing a strong 3-1 win with an 11-4 victory at the No. 9 spot.
Princeton will play three matches at Jadwin this weekend, including matches against No. 3 St. Lawrence and No. 4 Rochester. All matches will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
