Feb. 12 TigerCast: Gail Ramsay and Chris Bates
February 12, 2015 | General, Men's Lacrosse, Women's Squash
One team is looking to cap its season with a championship. Another is looking to begin a championship season. Head coaches of both (women's squash coach Gail Ramsay and men's lacrosse coach Chris Bates) joined the latest edition of TigerCast to discuss their upcoming weekends.
Ramsay will lead the fourth-ranked Princeton women's squash team into the Howe Cup Championships, held this weekend in Boston. Princeton will open against Yale, which the Tigers defeated in a 5-4 thriller earlier this season. Ramsay discusses both the experience she has in the middle of the lineup, as well as the two talented underclassmen who lead the charge at the top.
Bates will guide the men's lacrosse team into its 2015 debut Saturday at 1 pm against Manhattan; the Tigers suffered a series of near-misses last season, but they return a significant amount of starters that Bates hopes can help get the team off to a fast start. He also looks at the contributions — both on and off the field — of solo captain Kip Orban.
