Caitlin Chambers Caps Brilliant Season With Two Top-40 Finishes At NCAAs
March 22, 2015 | Women's Swimming and Diving
Sophomore Caitlin Chambers, the Ivy League Championships Diver of the Meet, made her NCAA Championships debut this week while competing in all three events in Greensboro, N.C. Chambers earned a pair of Top-40 finishes during the week, including a 32nd-place result in her NCAA debut, the 1M event.
Chambers finished 32nd in the IM preliminaries Thursday with 276.60 points, but it wasn't enough to advance to either of the finals rounds.
Chambers continued her competition Friday in the three-meter event, where she finished 48th overall with 249.40 points. She is the two-time defending Ivy League champion in the three-meter event. While she had significant experience in that event, she didn't compete in any platform events during the season. Regardless, she qualified during the Zone A Championships and finished 38th in the event with 213.60 points.
Chambers went undefeated against Ivy League competition this season, and she won both the 1-meter and 3-meter finals at the 2015 Ivy League Championships, which helped Princeton rally on the final day for a thrilling championship victory. She also leads a young group of divers, including a trio of sophomores who reached at least one 'A' final at the 2015 Ivy Championships.
