April 20, 2015 | Women's Lacrosse
PRINCETON, N.J. (4/20/15) - Princeton sophomore midfielder Olivia Hompe was named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Hompe scored seven goals in two games as the Tigers went 2-0 to clinch a share of the Ivy League title and hosting rights for the Ivy tournament. With Princeton trailing 5-4 at halftime at No. 11 Penn, Hompe scored the first two goals of the second half to regain the lead for her team, 6-4, as the Tigers went on a 5-1 run for the win. Hompe finished the game with a hat trick, two draw controls and one caused turnover. On Saturday against Columbia, she finished with four goals, four draw controls and one caused turnover and one ground ball in a 12-6 victory.
Hompe earns her first career Ivy League weekly award. She gives the Tigers four Offensive Player of the Week honors this season, as Erin Slifer is a three-time recipient (Feb. 23, March 23, April 13).
Princeton hosts Brown in the regular-season finale, this Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m.
